This chapter includes an incredible number of outlandish truth claims that are truly in the spirit of antichrist. Singer writes, "To begin with, you have to realize that you really only have one choice in this life, And it's not about your career, whom you want to marry, or whether you want to seek God." Singer sneaks this pernicious lie into the readers subconscious, that this ONE CHOICE THAT YOU SUPPOSEDLY HAVE IN LIFE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE POSSIBILITY OF "WHETHER YOU WANT TO SEEK GOD", No, Singer goes on to tell the readers that the one and only true choice that you must make is: "Do you want to be happy, or do you not want to be happy?"
For the follower of Jesus Christ there is one choice that is incumbent upon the believer which is expressed in manifold ways, and that is the answer to the question: Do you want to be holy? Which we can ask as, Do you want to be like God (Godlike - 2 Peter 1:1-4)? Jesus taught us in His "Sermon on the Mount" that we are to desire "blessedness", which should not be confused with earthly happiness, but should be understood as a heavenly state of grace and peace that is acquired through obedience to the commands of Jesus listed as the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12).
On page 142, Singer runs off a string of sentences that are pure falsehoods, five lies in the spirit of antichrist: "If you decide that you are going to be happy from now on for the rest of your life, you will not only be happy, (1)you will become enlightened. (2)Unconditional happiness IS the highest technique there is. (3)You don't have to learn Sanskrit or read any scriptures. (4)You don't have to renounce the world. You just have to really mean it when you say that you choose to be happy. And you have to mean it regardless of what happens. (5)This is TRULY a spiritual path, and it is as direct and sure a path to Awakening as could possibly exist." Singer is teaching doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1). Lie number 1) Singer claims you will "become enlightened" by deciding that you are going to be happy from now on for the rest of your life. Becoming enlightened only truly happens when "the true Light of the world - Jesus" enters your heart (John 1:1-9; John 8:12; Colossians 1:12-14; Acts 26:13-19; 2 Corinthians 4:3-6; Ephesians 5:8-14). Lie #2) Singer spouts off about "the highest technique". Life in Christ Jesus is not about techniques. Techniques smack of witchcraft which is used to manipulate the gods or powers that be. Following Jesus faithfully results in sharing in his very life and divine energies, specifically His grace and peace are communicated to you by His Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:1-4; 2 Corinthians 3:16-18; ). Lie #3) Singer writes, "You don't have to...read any scriptures". Jesus said, "Search the scriptures" (John 5:39), and "If you continue in my word, you are my disciples indeed (John 8:31-37). "All Scripture is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is profitable..." (2 Timothy 3:16,17). Lie #4) Singer denies the teaching of Jesus and of the Holy Scriptures when he writes, "You don't have to renounce the world". Jesus most certainly taught that to become his follower you must deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow him (Matthew 16:24-27). The very first step (of thirty), of "The Ladder of Divine Ascent" (the 5th century writings of St John Climacus and considered the primary book on Christian spirituality), is "the renunciation of the world". Christians consider renouncing the world as the very first step in the spiritual life. Singer says "you don't have to renounce the world". He is a liar. He is antichrist. Lie #5) Singer makes a Truth claim, that this "unconditional happiness" technique is the most sure path to Awakening. Let me warn you by the authority of the Word of God; any path that fills you with a false light, that light is actually darkness. "And if the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness", says Jesus (Matthew 6:23).
Quotes of Singer in this chapter:

*"Committing yourself to unconditional happiness will teach you every single thing there is to learn about yourself, about others, and about the nature of life".
*"What good does it do to not have fun?".
*"If you take on this path of unconditional happiness, you will go through all the various stages of yoga".
*"Unconditional happiness is a very high path and a very high technique because it solves everything".
*"One of the ancient names for God in the yogic tradition is Satchitananda --Eternal, Conscious Bliss. God is Ecstasy".
